Purva, 14 y/o, is one of four children of a single mother. Her mother is entrapped in a violent marriage for the past 20 years with a man who was prone to alcoholism and domestic abuse. Purva’s mother has been raising all 4 children largely by herself. Understanding the dynamics of her marriage, his mother educated herself and became a primary school teacher at the NGO, Muktangan, to support her family single-handedly. She is now concerned that little Sree & Purva will be influenced and traumatized by her husband’s erratic behavior. Sree has been enrolled in a residential school and Purva has been supported in her education locally in Mumbai with Ra Foundation's support. She is in Grade 9 at Muktangan’s educational institution.
