Kiran Holgarr lived with his grandparents and two elder siblings in Mumbai before his grandfather retired from the Railway Protection Force. Living in the countryside, Kiran’s mother is mentally unwell, and his father suffers from alcohol addiction. As his grandfather was the sole earner, the family had to move to the village. This raised an issue about whether to quit Kiran’s schooling. To help him with his educational needs and quality care, the Ra foundation enrolled Kiran in 2nd grade in Sweet Memories Highschool, Panchgani, through the foundation’s Happy Kids Program. The school helped Kiran develop cleanliness and intellectual capabilities, which groomed his personal life as well.
